Summary of Services
We will always make every attempt to accommodate the needs of our military families.
If you would like to see us provide a service we currently do not offer, feel free
to let us know and we will do our best to meet your needs. No request is too small
or large-Just ask!
Legal
Legal assistance is available for and includes, but is not limited to, issues on
separation/divorce, custody/guardianship, drafting of wills, Powers of Attorney,
landlord/tenant disputes, notaries, general non-commercial consumer law. Appointments
are necessary.
Personal Financial Management
Internet access to financial web sites is available, as well as the CASHE Program
which
is designed to help with college loans grants. Appointments can be set up
to provide one-on-one assistance in budget preparation, checkbook management, savings/investment
ideas, and lifestyle assessments.
Employment Assistance
Designed to assist spouses with career planning, improving job skills and identifying
vocational career interests. It also provides information to service members and
their families whom are separating or retiring from the military. Individual career
counseling and assessments, skill development and decision making are all key elements.
Consultants are available to assist with skills training and labor market analysis.

Relocation Assistance
Internet access to forms, programs and other base home pages through Air Force Crossroads
and SITES is available. Spouses are welcome to make an appointment to learn about
resources to discover more about their new assignment! By appointment only.

Family Readiness
Assists active duty members and their families during deployments, TDYs and remote
tours. Coordinates pre-deployment briefings for military personnel and conducts
one-on-one counseling with deploying members and their families. Communicate with
your family member using video teleconferencing equipment. Please call to confirm
availability and compatibility between the MFRC and the deployed location. By appointment
only.
Tax Assistance
Tax preparation is offered on an appointment basis. Information and assistance is
offered by qualified volunteers linked to the latest IRS Sites. By appointment only.
Loan Locker
Whether you are moving or just have extra guests, we offer a variety of items for
loan. Televisions, irons, fans, air mattresses, plus many other household items
are available.
Resource Center
Our resource center includes internet access for education, employment, or e-mail
access. Printers, copiers, fax machine (send or receive) are available for your
use. Feel free to stop in and use these items with no appointment necessary.
Chaplain Services
Chaplain Services can be arranged by appointment for counseling (spiritual,personal,
marital, parenting, etc.) Call 828-3621 to schedule an appointment, be sure to request
the BRANDON facility.
Playgroup
A supervised playgroup is offered every Friday morning 9:00-10:30. This provides
a wonderful opportunity for the preschoolers to interact with other toddlers while
parents get a chance to chat.
Computer Classes (Giant Campus)
We offer a variety of FREE computer classes provided by Giant Campus to include:
Computer Basics, Internet Basics, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint,
Web Design, and Digital Photo. We also provide some evening and weekend classes.
The following services are also available
Priority Cards
Spouses with a military member deployed, TDY or on remote tour are entitled
to a priority card, which allows the spouse to move to the front of a designated
line at the Base Exchange and Commissary
Give Parents a Break
Families of USAF military members who are deployed, on extended TDY, or working
excessive hours are entitled to a few hours of childcare provided by the Child Development
Center on MacDill AFB, paid for by the Air Force Aid Society. Also eligible are
parents with a new baby, children with special needs, families experiencing crises
(serious or extended illness in family, death of a relative). The program is limited
to Air Force personnel. Referrals can be obtained for qualified families through
the MacDill Family Resource Center.
Morale Calls
Family members are entitled to three 15 minute free phone calls per week, a
maximum of 12 each month from their home to the deployed member. Control numbers
are issued to the family member, who then calls MacDill AFB to be connected to
their deployed loved one.
Grief Casuality Assistance
A Representative is available to provide casualty assistance to dependents of active
duty or retired military members and in some cases parents of the military member.
The representative will ensure members' death is properly recorded and next of kin
are briefed on all benefits. Appointments are necessary
Reunion and Reintegration
Being part of the military family presents its own set of challenges when a deployed
member returns home. We are able to assist in the reintegration and reunion process.
Counseling and assistance is available through various base agencies. Please call
for an appointment if you would like to speak with a consultant.
