Quantum Leap Farm
Quantum Leap Farm is a Nonprofit Therapeutic & Recreational Horseback Riding Program Serving Veterans, Civilian Adults, and Kids with Mental & Physical Disabilities. For any rider, the relationship with a horse is special, but for adults with mental or physical disabilities this relationship can open the door to an entirely new realm of possibilities. Horse and rider become part of a therapeutic relationship, offering the disabled rider a unique opportunity to discover, or to regain a sense of adventure, freedom, excitement, dignity, accomplishment, and joy. Quantum Leap Farm is located in Odessa, Florida and serves the Tampa Bay area. Though there are several excellent therapeutic riding programs dedicated to serving disabled children in this area, the adult disabled population remains underserved. There are currently no other therapeutic riding programs dedicated to adults in the Tampa Bay area, despite a considerable number of eligible and interested adults. Quantum Leap Farm was founded also to perform much needed research to support a small but growing body of literature documenting the many physical, mental, and psychosocial benefits of therapeutic riding. Quantum Leap Farm exists to enrich and enhance the lives of adults with special needs by engaging them in a variety of equestrian activities designed to promote and improve physical, mental and social well-being.
